Learning English. By Alexa Espinosa Gonzalez

 BLOG

For me, the best age to start learning a language is like between 10 and 16 because you are not

too Young nor too old. And your brain can get used to do new things. I think I am now like in a

practice stage, learning and practicing.

Learning English for me is kind of difficult, because in the past my teachers were very strict and I

didn’t like a lot the class, so I decided to watch series and movies in English to understand better

the language, grammar, unlike others activities they were much easier.

In the enchanting Land of Ooo, lives Jake the Dog and Finn the Human, brothers and fun adventurers, but suddenly this turns into a dark story when Jake mysteriously transforms into a monstrous creature. The once sweet and happy dog is now a dangerous creature who eats everything in his path.

Finn devastated, knew he had to confront his friend and end the horrors Jake was causing. So he thinks about a way to stop him.

Finn realizes that the only way to end this, without making him suffer, is to freeze him with the power of the ice crown of the Ice King, so Finn decides to go to the Ice Kingdom to ask for help from the Ice King.

When Finn is entering the castle he sees a lot of blood, and when he enters, he sees the dead body of the ice king, with a lot of bites all over him. Finn was shocked, it was too late, but the crown wasn’t there. Finn knew that Jake had taken it, and he decided to get back to his tree house, but when he arrived, he found Jake, and the crown in his hand, he ran to get it, but Jake tried to eat him, and when Finn finally get the crown, he put it on and froze jake.

Finn is suffering indescribable pain, but what he doesn’t know is that the crown powers make you crazy, so Finn lets his feelings take over him and starts freezing and destroying the Land of Ooo.

Who is José Moreno Hernandez? By Diego Balmori.

Diego Balmori

José Moreno Hernández, the first Mexican astronaut to spend almost 14 days in space, was born on August 7, 1962, in California, to migrant farm workers. His dream of becoming an astronaut began as a child when he saw the Apollo moon landing. Inspired by this, he pursued an education in engineering and worked at NASA's Johnson Space Center.

While facing financial difficulties and language barriers, José persevered, fueled by his family's unwavering support. NASA didn't select him on his first application, but he persisted and was eventually chosen in 2004, becoming an accomplished astronaut.

His resilience and dedication, coupled with a strong educational background, make him a successful astronaut. Students can learn the value of perseverance, education, and the impact of supportive communities from his life.

His future plans are to continuing working in his wine business, and I think that his most important contribution is that he leaves us a message that everything is possible, if you really fight for it.

A Weird Babysitting Experience. By Lumi Tarhala.

 A Weird Babysitting Experience

While talking to the girl I was babysitting, I made my way further into the house. I had the DVD and Popcorn in my bag.

“I bought a movie. You like movies, Mandy?” I inquired. Over my shoulder, I could see Mandy nodding and I got an idea:

“Why don’t you go to your room to get your teddy bear?”. Mandy went to her room. I turned to look at the living room.

“That's pretty creepy” I said, looking at the disturbingly realistic, life-size doll dressed like a clown. I picked up the blanket from the couch and put it over the doll.

Then I put the DVD in and went into the kitchen and put the popcorn into the microwave. I returned to see that Mandy was on the couch, eyeing the blanket. I told her about the movie, but I heard the microwave go off, so I went into the kitchen.

When I returned, the blanket had slipped off the doll. I almost dropped the bowl, when I realized that Mandy wasn’t there. I called out to her a few times, moving along the house. Finally I found her crying in her room. I comforted her the best I could, laying with her on the bed. After she calmed down, we stayed in her room and played with toys, until I put her to sleep.

I heard keyes dingling, so I hurriedly got my bag and went to greet the parents.

“Mandy is asleep. She panicked earlier, I think she was scared of the clown doll in the living room. But we handled it”, I said before leaving. I heard Mr. Scrone say:

“What is she talking about? I’ve never seen one in our living room, is it a part of your porcelain collection?”

“No”, said Mrs. Scrone.

Later that night I got a message from them asking if I had left the living room window open.

The Entity. (A Halloween Story). By Sebastian Mothelet.

Oh God. I’m awake again. Although, I guess I'm glad to not be sleeping either. Dreams used to be my only escape from this hell hole I call reality, but recently I've been plagued by nightmares. It's the middle of the night, and the lamp beside me is providing very dim light which fills the room with a dark ambience.

As I’m trying to go back to sleep, I feel something wet on my arm and look around to investigate what it was. When I look up, I see a beating heart hanging from the ceiling fan and suddenly realize what fell on my arm. This startled and, quite frankly, disgusted me but truthfully I’ve had worse hallucinations. Because of this, although begrudgingly, I attempted to go to sleep again. But just as I was about to drift, I noticed the painting next to me looked… different. It was looking at me... but with many eyes.

I wouldn't have paid much attention to it, but it lacked the fuzzy feel my hallucinations tend to have. It felt… scarily real. I was inclined to yell for help but soon remembered it wouldn't be of much use, as my doctors had been advised against listening to my beckonings. Besides, the last thing I want is higher dosage. I felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t bring myself to sleep. But what happened next assured me something was after me.

My lamp broke and fire ensued. A group of hands, which were pitch black, emerged from the fire and made their way towards me. They ensured I couldn't escape or move.  In the moment, I thought I should scream, but knew ultimately it wouldn't be of use, so I accepted my fate. I NOW FORM PART OF THE ENTITY

Learning New Skills. By Sofia Sepulveda Carcaño.

 21/Sep/23. English

Sepúlveda. " Learning Skills Blog Entry"

I think that the best age to start learning a language is as young as

possible since we keep the information more easily and we can learn

faster because of how young brain cells/neurons work.

I think that I'm on time to learn some other things since I have more time than an adult,

I can learn easily, I would like to play instruments or a new language.

Learning English is easier since it is the most important language to learn, so it's

easy to do. I would like to learn more about the language. :)

Learning English. By Isa Cisneros.

I think the best age to start learning English is when you are really young

because at that time your brain is still developing so it would be easier

to learn and because at that age you have more white matter.

I believe that I am in an intermediate stage of learning English,

I can have a basic conversation with someone and understand most of it,

but I still have to work on more advanced vocabulary and grammar.

Learning English can be similar to other activities in the part of practicing and

making mistakes but it’s different because you have to listen to many

audios and practice speaking it as well!!
