The Entity. (A Halloween Story). By Sebastian Mothelet.

Oh God. I’m awake again. Although, I guess I'm glad to not be sleeping either. Dreams used to be my only escape from this hell hole I call reality, but recently I've been plagued by nightmares. It's the middle of the night, and the lamp beside me is providing very dim light which fills the room with a dark ambience.

As I’m trying to go back to sleep, I feel something wet on my arm and look around to investigate what it was. When I look up, I see a beating heart hanging from the ceiling fan and suddenly realize what fell on my arm. This startled and, quite frankly, disgusted me but truthfully I’ve had worse hallucinations. Because of this, although begrudgingly, I attempted to go to sleep again. But just as I was about to drift, I noticed the painting next to me looked… different. It was looking at me... but with many eyes.

I wouldn't have paid much attention to it, but it lacked the fuzzy feel my hallucinations tend to have. It felt… scarily real. I was inclined to yell for help but soon remembered it wouldn't be of much use, as my doctors had been advised against listening to my beckonings. Besides, the last thing I want is higher dosage. I felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t bring myself to sleep. But what happened next assured me something was after me.

My lamp broke and fire ensued. A group of hands, which were pitch black, emerged from the fire and made their way towards me. They ensured I couldn't escape or move.  In the moment, I thought I should scream, but knew ultimately it wouldn't be of use, so I accepted my fate. I NOW FORM PART OF THE ENTITY
